Terms & Booking Conditions

1. Who you are booking with

This website is operated by Blue Horizon, Rijeka Crnojevića, Montenegro. Blue Horizon takes the booking and handles customer support.

The tour itself is provided by Captain Duško, the licensed boat operator, who holds the boat licence and the operating permissions for Lake Skadar National Park and who is responsible for the conduct of the tour on the water. When you confirm a booking you enter into a contract for the tour with the operator, with Blue Horizon acting as the authorised booking agent.

2. Prices

Every price on this site is per boat, not per person. The boat is private to your party for the whole tour. These are the current prices:

The Lake Skadar National Park entrance fee of €5 per person is not included in the tour price. It is payable to the national park and is collected separately. Prices are in euro and apply to the 2026 season. We may change prices for future bookings, but the price confirmed to you at the time of booking is the price you pay.

3. Boat capacity and who can come

Each boat carries up to 9 passengers. Larger parties can be arranged as more than one boat; ask us before booking. Children are welcome and are counted as passengers. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who makes the booking.

4. Season and departures

Tours run from April to October. All tours depart from the waterfront at Rijeka Crnojevića, not from Virpazar. Please arrive at the dock 10 minutes before your start time; a late arrival may shorten the tour, because the next booking cannot be delayed.

5. Making a booking

You can book through the booking window on this site or by WhatsApp, phone or email. A booking is confirmed when we confirm the date, time and tour back to you. Until then the slot is not held.

6. Payment

No payment is taken on this website. There is no card form and no online checkout. Payment for the tour is made directly to the operator at the departure point on the day, in cash in euro, unless something different has been agreed with you in writing beforehand. The national park fee is paid separately, to the park.

7. If you cancel or do not arrive

Tell us as early as you can. There is no cancellation charge if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start time; because no payment has been taken in advance, nothing needs to be refunded. If you do not arrive at the dock and have not contacted us, the slot is treated as cancelled.

8. If we cancel — the weather policy

The captain checks conditions before every departure and will not run a tour that is unsafe or that would be a poor experience. Strong wind in particular makes the boat unstable and the birds hard to find. Light rain rarely stops a tour.

If we cancel a tour for weather or for any operational reason, you choose between a full refund of anything you have paid and a free reschedule to another time or day that suits you. There is no charge either way. If a tour has to be cut short once on the water for safety, we refund the proportion of the tour not delivered or reschedule it.

9. Safety on the water

Life jackets are carried for every passenger, including child sizes, and must be worn when the captain asks. The captain's instructions on board are final and are there for your safety. Swimming is only at the stops where the captain says it is safe, and is at your own risk. Please tell us before departure about any medical condition, reduced mobility or non-swimmer in your party so the captain can plan for it.

Alcohol brought on board is not permitted, and the captain may refuse boarding to anyone who appears unfit to travel safely. In that case the tour is treated as cancelled by you.

10. National park rules

Lake Skadar is a national park and a protected wetland. On every tour we keep to the park rules: a maximum of 4 knots in protected areas, a 300-metre distance from the pelican colonies, engines cut near nesting birds, and nothing left behind on the water or the shore. 11. Insurance and liability

The operator holds the insurance required for licensed passenger boat operation in Montenegro. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Montenegrin law. Beyond that, we are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings brought on board, for anything caused by your own failure to follow the captain's instructions, or for indirect losses such as onward travel missed because a tour was cancelled for weather. We strongly recommend your own travel insurance.

12. Photography

We sometimes take photographs during tours for our own website and social media. Tell the captain before departure if you would rather not appear in them, and we will not use images of your party.

13. Complaints

If something was not right, tell the captain at the time if you can, and write to book@skadarlaketour.com. We answer complaints within 14 days.

14. Law and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by the law of Montenegro, and the courts of Montenegro have jurisdiction. We may update them; the version that applies to your booking is the one published on the day you booked, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
