Who is responsible for your data

This website is published and operated by Blue Horizon, based in Rijeka Crnojevića, Montenegro. Blue Horizon is the data controller for everything described on this page.

Blue Horizon takes bookings and handles marketing and customer support. The boat tours themselves are run by Captain Duško, the licensed boat operator. When you book, the details needed to run your tour — your name, the date and time, the number of passengers and your phone number — are passed to the operator so that he can meet you at the dock.

What we collect, and when

The enquiry form on the contact page

The form on our contact page does not send anything to a server of ours. It runs in your browser and assembles the text of a WhatsApp message from what you typed. Nothing is submitted, stored or emailed until you press send inside WhatsApp, and at that point the message goes to us through WhatsApp like any other chat. We hold no database of form submissions.

WhatsApp, phone and email enquiries

If you message, call or email us we receive whatever you choose to tell us — typically your name, your phone number or email address, your travel dates and your group size. We use it only to answer you and to arrange the tour. WhatsApp is provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited under its own privacy policy.

The booking widget

Bookings are taken through Cal.com, which appears in a window on this site. When you complete a booking, Cal.com collects your name, email address, phone number, chosen tour, date and time, and anything you add in the notes field, and acts as our processor for that data. No card details and no payment are taken on this website or through the booking widget.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads measurement. These set cookies and collect usage data such as the pages you view, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.

Google Consent Mode v2 is implemented on this site. Analytics and advertising storage are set to denied before you make a choice, so no analytics or advertising cookies are written until you consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie banner.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data including IP addresses in order to serve pages and protect the service from abuse. This happens whether or not you consent to analytics, because the site cannot be delivered without it.

Why we are allowed to process it

• To answer an enquiry and to arrange and run your tour — because it is necessary to take steps at your request and to perform the booking.
• To keep basic records of bookings — our legitimate interest in running the business and in dealing with any later question or complaint.
• Analytics and advertising measurement — your consent, given through the cookie banner, which you may withdraw at any time.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It is seen by:

• Captain Duško, the boat operator, for the details needed to run your tour
• Cal.com, Inc. — booking scheduling
• Meta Platforms Ireland Limited — WhatsApp messages
• Google Ireland Limited — analytics and advertising measurement, only with your consent
• Vercel Inc. — hosting and server logs

Some of these providers are based outside Montenegro and the European Economic Area. Where data reaches a country without an adequacy decision, the transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses in that provider's own terms.

How long we keep it

• Enquiry messages: up to 12 months after the last contact, then deleted.
• Booking records: up to 24 months after the tour date, so we can answer later questions.
• Analytics data: according to the retention set in Google Analytics, currently 14 months.
• Server logs: kept by the host for a short technical period, typically about 30 days.

Your rights

Under Montenegro's Law on Personal Data Protection, and under the GDPR where it applies to you as a visitor from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop a particular use, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing rests on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting what was done beforehand.

Write to book@skadarlaketour.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Agency for Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information in Montenegro, or to the data protection authority in your own country.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Children are welcome on the tours, but the booking is made by an adult, and we only need the number and ages of children in the party for safety and for life-jacket sizing.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the page and the date at the top. The booking terms that apply to your tour are set out separately in our terms and conditions.
